Overview

The Howard Center explores the COVID-19 pandemic’s impact on America’s homeless population. Driven by a “vulnerability index” based on a Howard Center data analysis, the package features five digital stories, a podcast, data visualization and an audio/photo montage of homeless men and women from New York to California. This project, the first of a two-part series on COVID-19 and homelessness, was also supported by the Pulitzer Center. More than 300 professional news outlets nationwide published stories from this project.
